Founded in 1942, Lambert’s Cafe is a US chain restaurant with locations in Foley, Alabama, and Sikeston and Ozark, Missouri. It features Southern or country-style cooking. Diners are entertained by servers tossing freshly made, warm rolls to customers. A variety of free side dishes, called “pass arounds,” are brought to the table to accompany each meal.

We went to Lambert’s Cafe in Ozark, Missouri, on Labor Day weekend. It was extremely crowded. We got a table after waiting in line for almost an hour. The restaurant is big, and the decor is impressive, with all kinds of interesting artifacts.

My husband caught the flying hot rolls. If a customer fails to catch one, no problem at all—the server will toss another roll. The shareable sides were very interesting because servers walked around carrying big buckets of food, asking if you wanted some, and then scooping out a big spoonful to plop on your plate. Before our meal was ready, I was almost half-full from the delicious hot rolls and fried okra. The food was great, even the iced tea I ordered was super fresh. The meal price was very reasonable.
After the meal, we stopped by their gift shop. I bought a coffee mug as a souvenir of this unique dining experience with its fun atmosphere.

That sounds like fun, never heard of anything quite like it.

Thank you! Yes, it is so fun. I also wonder if the restaurant managers give a throwing test when they interview the servers😄?
